Matt Zames Joins Social Security Administration as Technology Advisor
Matt Zames joined the Social Security Administration as an unpaid advisor to modernize the agency's aging technology systems.
Matt Zames, a former JPMorgan Chase executive, has joined the Trump administration as an advisor to the Social Security Administration. Serving as a special government employee in an unpaid capacity, Zames will assist Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano in modernizing the agency's decades-old technology systems.
Zames brings a background in large-scale operational management, having previously served as the chief operating officer of JPMorgan Chase, where he led technology and cost-cutting initiatives, and as president of the private equity firm Cerberus.
His appointment comes as the Social Security Administration faces significant systemic pressure. The agency's retirement trust fund is projected to be exhausted in less than a decade, a financial shortfall that could result in benefit cuts for millions of Americans.
