Christie & Co reported a 22% increase in instructions to sell pubs and restaurants between January and August 2026.

Christie & Co, the agency and advisory arm of Christie Group plc, reported a 22% increase in instructions to sell pubs and restaurants from January to August 2026 compared to the previous year. The firm managed instructions for over 360 properties, agreeing over 230 deals and completing more than 115 transactions with total sales exceeding £60 million.

Other divisions of the parent company also reported growth. Christie Finance saw completions rise by 63% and refinancing activity increase by 50%. Meanwhile, the stocktaking business Venners found that over 67% of audited pubs and 57% of restaurants were overstocked, holding liquor stock valued at more than £17 million.
