Google Executive Donald Harrison Resigns From SpaceX Board

Donald Harrison resigned from the SpaceX board of directors while Google maintains its position as the company's largest institutional investor.

Donald Harrison, the president of global partnerships and corporate development at Google, has resigned from the board of directors of SpaceX. In a regulatory filing, SpaceX clarified that the departure did not stem from any disagreement regarding the company's operations, policies, or practices.

The resignation follows the completion of the largest initial public offering on record approximately five months ago, which valued SpaceX at roughly $1.8 trillion. Despite the board change, Alphabet Inc. remains the largest institutional investor in SpaceX with a stake valued at $74 billion.

Google and SpaceX continue to maintain a close operational partnership. This includes a deal where Google pays the AI division of SpaceX up to $920 million monthly for compute capacity in Tennessee, as well as a joint collaboration to launch AI chips into orbit through Project Suncatcher.
