Families Protest Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan Province

Reports of enforced disappearances continue in Pakistan's Balochistan province, with families alleging that state forces are detaining citizens without legal process. In Kech, a resident named Abdullah was reportedly detained and disappeared on September 21, 2026.

In Quetta, the family of Ghulam Haider Kurd held a press conference to demand his release, alleging he was detained on March 12, 2026, by the Counter-Terrorism Department and other agencies. These incidents have fueled long-term unrest in the region. The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons continues to maintain a protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club, a demonstration that has now lasted 6,365 days.

While families and human rights groups consistently allege the involvement of security and intelligence agencies in these disappearances, the Government of Pakistan has denied involvement in many of these cases.
