Poland Arrests Spies for Supplying Military Parts to Russia

The Polish Internal Security Agency arrested four people for spying for Russia and illegally supplying military components to circumvent an embargo.

The Internal Security Agency of Poland arrested four individuals on Thursday for spying on behalf of Russian intelligence and illegally supplying military components to the Russian Federation. The suspects, which include five Polish citizens and one Russian woman, allegedly provided materials used to produce ammunition and weapon systems.

These actions were intended to bypass a strict embargo on military exports to Russia. Two additional suspects accused of participating in an organized criminal group were placed under non-custodial preventive measures during the investigation.

Tomasz Siemoniak, head of Poland's special services, stated that approximately 100 people have been suspected of involvement in sabotage and espionage incidents since January 1, 2024. The Federal Government of Russia has denied conducting sabotage operations within NATO member states.
