Anthropic is preparing to inform investors that its total addressable market exceeds $30 trillion as the AI laboratory nears a reported $2 trillion initial public offering. The company bases this estimate on the total value of human labor its AI models could theoretically substitute in sectors including engineering, accounting, and legal services.

This valuation is roughly equivalent to the entire annual GDP of the United States. The claim has drawn mixed reactions from analysts, with some describing the figure as nonsense and aggressive marketing designed to justify high valuations, while others interpret it as a mission statement rather than a literal financial forecast.

Despite the skepticism surrounding its market projections, the company has experienced rapid financial growth. Anthropic reported an annualized revenue run rate surpassing $65 billion at the end of July 2026.
