Salesforce and Anthropic Launch Claudeforce AI Plugin
Salesforce expanded its partnership with Anthropic to launch Claudeforce, an AI plugin for sales teams, while raising its annual revenue forecast to over $46 billion.
Salesforce, Inc. expanded its strategic partnership with Anthropic on Wednesday to launch Claudeforce, a plugin that integrates Claude AI models directly into the Salesforce enterprise platform. The tool allows salespeople to update records and compose emails within the chatbot using 37 pre-built sales skills. To address data privacy, the companies are developing Enterprise Frontier Safeguards.
The announcement coincided with Salesforce reporting second-quarter revenue of $11.35 billion and a quarterly net income of $3.53 billion, which included a $2.6 billion investment gain related to Anthropic. Driven by strong enterprise adoption of autonomous agents, the company raised its fiscal 2027 annual revenue forecast to between $46.1 billion and $46.4 billion and increased its adjusted earnings per share guidance.
Salesforce shares rose 12% in extended trading following the news. The move addresses investor fears of a SaaSpocalypse, where AI tools might replace traditional software-as-a-service platforms. Marc Benioff noted that annual recurring revenue from AI and data products is approaching $4 billion, while Robin Washington reported that order volumes have reached a four-year high.
