Odisha and Jammu and Kashmir Order Major Bureaucratic Reshuffles
The governments of Odisha and Jammu and Kashmir transferred dozens of senior administrative officers on Wednesday to overhaul district leadership and state departments.
Administrative leadership underwent significant changes across two Indian regions on Wednesday. In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered a comprehensive overhaul involving 49 officers, including 42 from the Indian Administrative Service. This reshuffle replaced the Jammu Divisional Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, with Vikas Kundal, while Kumar moved to the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. The order also installed new deputy commissioners across eight districts and changed leadership for the Jammu and Srinagar Municipal Corporations.
Simultaneously, the Government of Odisha reshuffled seven Indian Administrative Service officers. This transition included the appointment of Anya Das and Madhumita Sarcar as the new collectors of Nabarangpur and Nuapada districts, respectively. Maheswar Swain, the outgoing Nabarangpur collector, was named additional secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Other appointments included Madhusudan Dash as additional secretary in the General Administration and Public Grievances Department and Ashni A L as sub-collector of Bhawanipatna.
