ADC Vows Atiku Abubakar Will Not Be Absentee President

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council guaranteed that its presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, will be a physically present and responsive leader if elected in the 2027 general elections. During a meeting in Abuja on Monday, ADC Director of Media and Publicity Kola Ologbondiyan stated that Abubakar would not be an "absentee President," arguing that the country requires firm leadership to avoid uncertainty during critical moments of governance.

Ologbondiyan detailed Abubakar's economic platform, which includes a production-based intervention for petroleum products refined within Nigeria. This proposal would be subject to independent audits and approval from the National Assembly.

The campaign announcement coincided with a meeting with the Atiku Unity Movement (AUM). AUM leader Hon. Francis Eburuwe pledged the group's full commitment to mobilizing Nigerians for Abubakar's candidacy, citing the need for a change in political direction to improve citizen welfare.
