EVgo Opens Flagship Fast-Charging Station in Detroit
EVgo opened a flagship fast-charging station in metropolitan Detroit with support from General Motors to expand its nationwide high-speed charging network.
EVgo Inc. opened a new flagship fast-charging station in metropolitan Detroit on August 11, 2026. Located at the Meijer Warren store across from the General Motors Global Technical Center, the site features 350 kW charging capability and a combination of 12 CCS and NACS stalls.
The station includes an overhead canopy with pull-through access designed to accommodate vehicles towing trailers. This facility is part of a broader partnership with General Motors that has already resulted in the construction of nearly 2,400 stalls across 32 states to support electric vehicle adoption.
The Detroit opening brings the company's total to over 40 flagship stalls nationwide. EVgo aims to exceed 100 flagship stations by the end of 2026, with planned expansions into California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, and Texas.
