Israeli Forces and Settlers Conduct Raids and Attacks Across West Bank

Israel Defense Forces and settlers executed a series of coordinated attacks and raids across the West Bank starting August 4, 2026. In the region south of Nablus, settlers set fire to three vehicles and targeted residential homes in Jalud and Talfit. In the town of Madama, settlers damaged electricity poles, causing power outages for the second time in one week. Local reports indicate these settler actions occurred under the protection of the military.

Operations escalated on August 5 with large-scale military raids north of Jerusalem, targeting the Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab. Troops stormed the Popular Committee headquarters in Qalandiya and prevented dawn prayers at local mosques. These raids resulted in several arrests and the assault of journalist Mohammad Samreen.

Military activity expanded into the Bethlehem area, where forces raided al-Khader, Husan, and the al-Azza and Aida refugee camps. In Nahalin, the military demolished two homes. Simultaneously, Israeli settlers began fencing off large areas of land in the Hammamat al-Malih region of the northern Jordan Valley.
