OpenAI Launches Admin Plugin for ChatGPT Work and Codex

OpenAI launched the Admin plugin for ChatGPT Work and Codex, providing workspace administrators with a conversational interface to manage users, permissions, and usage data. The tool allows admins to handle member onboarding and offboarding, track adoption rates, and control access to specific features or models based on roles or groups.

Beyond user management, the plugin enables administrators to adjust spending requests and usage limits. During a demonstration, the company showed the tool analyzing 30-day usage trends, generating data charts, and creating a presentation deck for a rollout review that was shared through Slack.

The Admin plugin is currently available to eligible users through the Plugins directory in ChatGPT Work.
