BJ's Wholesale Club Raises Full-Year Guidance After Strong Q2

BJ's Wholesale Club raised its full-year profit guidance after reporting second-quarter earnings of $1.36 per share, exceeding analyst expectations.

BJ's Wholesale Club reported second-quarter earnings of $1.36 per diluted share, surpassing analyst expectations of $1.17. The company saw total revenue rise 15.7% to $6.23 billion, with net income increasing to $173.9 million from $150.7 million in the previous year.

Driven by record membership of 8.5 million and strong gas performance, the company raised its full-year adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of $4.60 to $4.80, up from the previous estimate of $4.40 to $4.60. Membership fee income grew 9.9% to $135.6 million during the period.

Operational expansions included the opening of three new clubs and one gas station. Additionally, the company repurchased 1.4 million shares of common stock for $124.1 million. Executives attributed the results to membership momentum and strategic priorities.
