Nokia opened a research and development center in Riyadh to create AI-powered network automation software as part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

Nokia opened a new research and development center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, dedicated to the creation of AI-powered network automation software. The facility focuses on AI-native 6G technologies, self-organizing networks, and service management and orchestration to enable communications networks to self-heal, self-configure, and lower energy consumption.

The initiative stems from an agreement between the company and the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The center aims to produce software labeled Made in Saudi for global markets while creating high-value engineering roles and providing AI certifications for local talent.
