Danish Ambassador Forecasts Trade Growth Under India-EU Pact

Danish Ambassador to India Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen stated that the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement will increase Indian exports to Denmark and attract more Danish investment into India. Speaking at the PAFI 13th Annual Forum 2026, Kristensen noted that the pact allows companies to utilize India as a manufacturing hub to service the domestic market and re-export goods back to Europe.

Kristensen emphasized that the agreement will require greater awareness of intellectual property rights for both Danish investors and Indian technology startups expanding into European markets. The Government of Denmark and the Government of India are working together to raise this awareness for small and medium-sized companies.

During the forum, the ambassador also referenced a separate security agreement signed on September 22 in New York. That pact between the United States, Denmark, and Greenland aims to strengthen security in the Arctic and North Atlantic through NATO cooperation.
