Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) provisionally reported a 10 percent year-on-year increase in core service revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27. Revenue rose to Rs 4,418 crore from Rs 4,017 crore in the previous year, according to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who announced the figures following a strategic review of the company's 28 telecom circles.

Growth was primarily led by the Enterprise Business segment, which grew 19.2 percent to Rs 1,745 crore, and Consumer Mobility, which increased 8 percent to Rs 1,724 crore. Consumer Fixed Access remained relatively flat at Rs 960 crore, while average revenue per user rose from Rs 100 to Rs 102.7.

Scindia identified Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh West, and Karnataka as the top-performing circles. To support further growth, the government allocated Rs 28,473 crore to BSNL for the current fiscal year, which includes funding for 22,000 additional 4G sites. Scindia directed the company to maintain a focus on network reliability and customer experience.
