Cheniere Energy Raises 2026 Guidance After Record Q2 Profits

Cheniere Energy reported a surge in second-quarter net income and raised its full-year guidance following record U.S. LNG exports to Asia.

Cheniere Energy reported second-quarter 2026 financial results on August 6, revealing a 89% surge in net income to $3,068 million and a 27% year-over-year increase in consolidated adjusted EBITDA to $1,804 million. The company subsequently raised its full-year 2026 consolidated adjusted EBITDA guidance to between $7.90 billion and $8.40 billion.

Financial gains were driven by improved operational reliability and the acceleration of the Corpus Christi LNG Stage 3 project. The company capitalized on Middle East conflicts, noting that a 91% reduction in LNG transits through the Strait of Hormuz spurred record U.S. exports to Asia. Jack A Fusco, the company's Chairman, President and CEO, highlighted these production records and operational achievements.

To support future growth, the company signed a $4.7 billion EPC contract with Bechtel for the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Expansion Phase 1 and confirmed Baker Hughes as the supplier for necessary turbines and compressors. Additionally, Cheniere repurchased 2.2 million shares and issued $1.75 billion in senior notes to manage debt and fund ongoing expansion.
