Rekha Gupta Launches Oxygen Park and Electric Transit Fleet

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced plans on September 3, 2026, to transform the reclaimed Okhla landfill site into an Oxygen Park. The project will develop approximately 37 acres of land recovered from a legacy garbage dump that previously held 70 lakh metric tonnes of waste, providing a pollution-free green space for local residents.

Alongside the environmental project, Gupta launched a fleet of over 50 zero-emission electric buses to modernize public transport and reduce urban air pollution. This expansion includes a new interstate e-bus service connecting Delhi and Rewari, Haryana, to improve connectivity within the National Capital Region and decrease reliance on private vehicles.

To support the shift toward electric mobility, the government opened public EV charging stations at the Hasanpur and Ghazipur depots. Additionally, Gupta inaugurated an automated vehicle testing station in Tekhand, which is expected to facilitate fitness and emissions testing for approximately 72,000 vehicles annually.
