RSF Drone Strike Kills Five Civilians in Omdurman
Rapid Support Forces killed five civilians in a drone strike on a vehicle traveling toward Omdurman, marking the second such attack in Khartoum within a week.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed five civilians in a drone strike on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The attack targeted a civilian vehicle traveling from the White Nile province toward Omdurman on the Al-Jamouiya Triangle road, completely destroying the vehicle and killing all five occupants.
This incident represents the second drone attack in the Khartoum region within a single week, following a Tuesday strike on a hospital in the Jebel Awliya area. The violence follows a period of relative calm in the capital after the Sudanese Armed Forces regained control of the region last year.
Sudanese Emergency Lawyers condemned the strike as a violation of international humanitarian law, stating it demonstrates a pattern of indiscriminate attacks on civilians using public roads. The RSF and the Sudanese government have not officially responded to the incident. The attack occurs within a broader conflict that began in April 2023 and has resulted in at least 59,000 deaths.
