Bill Smith Returns as CEO of Smith Micro Software

Smith Micro Software appointed founder Bill Smith as president and chief executive officer. Smith returns to the leadership role after serving as executive chairman of the board since March 2026. He previously led the company as chairman, president, and CEO from its founding in 1982 until March 2026.

Outgoing CEO Tim Huffmyer resigned to pursue other opportunities, though he will remain on the company's board of directors. Huffmyer previously held the roles of chief operating officer and chief financial officer before his tenure as CEO.
