iPhone 18 Pro Global Sales Rise 3.1% Led by China

Apple saw a 3.1% global increase in iPhone 18 Pro sales during the first three weeks, driven by strong Chinese demand despite declines in the U.S. and Japan.

Global sales of the iPhone 18 Pro series grew 3.1% year-on-year during the first three weeks following its September launch, according to data from Counterpoint Research. This growth was primarily fueled by a 29% surge in China, where improved product supply and price increases for competing Android flagships boosted demand.

In contrast, Apple faced declines in other major markets. Sales fell 4% in the United States, where consumers perceived a lack of meaningful feature or design improvements over previous models. Japan saw a sharper 27% drop as unfavorable exchange rates amplified price increases for consumers.

Within the series, the iPhone 18 Pro Max accounted for 56% of sales, a slight decrease from 57% the previous year. This shift reflects stronger demand for the standard Pro model in emerging markets, including India and Southeast Asia. Analysts noted that macroeconomic uncertainty and longer replacement cycles continue to weigh on upgrades.

Market observers are now looking toward the launch of the iPhone Duo in Week 43. The new device is expected to either generate incremental demand or cannibalize existing sales of the Pro Max model.
