Supreme Court of India Intervenes in National Capital Assaults

This judicial intervention follows a series of reports that sparked public demands for systemic reforms to protect women and children in public spaces.

Proposed safety measures include the creation of a dedicated women's safety police force characterized by strong female representation. The court is also considering the implementation of basic urban safeguards to address security failures.

These infrastructure improvements include the installation of functional CCTV systems, improved street lighting, and increased police patrolling. The goal of these measures is to ensure that women and children can move freely and safely within the region.
