XPeng to Integrate Google Play into Vehicle Cockpits
XPeng will integrate Google Play into its vehicle cockpit systems by early 2027 to provide app access across more than 100 countries.
XPeng announced a strategic expansion of its collaboration with Google to integrate Google Play directly into its vehicle cockpit systems. Scheduled for launch in early 2027, the integration utilizes Android Automotive OS to offer drivers and passengers phone-optional access to hundreds of automotive-optimized apps for music, navigation, gaming, and lifestyle services.
The system will be available in more than 100 countries and regions and will operate alongside the company's AI-powered voice assistant. This development follows a July 2026 integration of the Google Maps Auto SDK, which provided navigation and map capabilities for the company's driver-assistance systems in overseas markets.
XPeng has not yet released specific details regarding which vehicle models will support the integration or the exact market availability. The company characterized the move as an extension of its existing digital ecosystem strategy.
