Nigel Farage Launches Economic Rescue Plan to Half-Empty Room

Nigel Farage unveiled Reform UK's Economic Rescue Plan in London, facing mockery from political rivals after poor attendance at the event.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and Treasury spokesperson Robert Jenrick unveiled the party's Economic Rescue Plan on Monday at Lindley Hall in Westminster, London. The launch, held shortly before Prime Minister Andy Burnham's first budget, focused on substantial tax relief to reduce government spending and praised the success of Brexit.

The event was marked by a significant number of empty seats, prompting the Labour Party to remark that they hoped the "crickets in the room enjoyed it as much as Nigel clearly did." The Conservative Party described the turnout as "cringingly embarrassing" for Farage and Jenrick.

Farage attributed the poor attendance to "staff incompetence" and argued that scheduling the event on a Monday conflicted with the availability of business owners. The low turnout follows a downward trend for Reform UK in recent Ipsos polling, which places the party third with 20% support, trailing both the Labour and Conservative parties.
