Audi Announces High-Efficiency A2 e-tron Electric Hatchback

Audi announced the A2 e-tron, a compact electric hatchback described as the most efficient production car the company has ever built. The vehicle is scheduled for a full reveal in autumn 2026, with European sales commencing between late 2026 and early 2027.

Gernot Döllner, CEO of AUDI AG, stated that the new A2 e-tron represents a vision of outstanding efficiency and everyday usability. The entry-level 140kW model features a 61-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with cell-to-pack design and silicon carbide semiconductors. It achieved a preliminary WLTP energy consumption of 12.8 kWh/100 km and a drag coefficient of 0.24.

The vehicle supports bidirectional charging, including Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Home capabilities. While Audi officially confirmed the 140kW version, leaked data suggests the existence of more powerful variants offering up to 321 hp. These leaks also indicate a starting price of €38,200, which would position the A2 e-tron as the most affordable electric vehicle in the Audi lineup.
