Google Expands Gemini AI for Samsung Galaxy Devices

Google announced expanded Gemini Intelligence features for Samsung Electronics' latest hardware at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London. The updates introduce advanced task automation for over 40 apps, including Etsy and Expedia, to assist with workflows like shopping and travel booking. These specific multi-app capabilities are initially limited to the United States and Korea.

The new Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8 devices come with Gemini Notebook pre-installed. The Z Fold 8 series specifically features a two-pane interface designed for research and document organization. To incentivize adoption, Google is offering a six-month complimentary subscription to its Google AI Pro service for purchasers of the new foldables.

Beyond smartphones, Gemini integrates with the Galaxy Watch 9 through a wrist-raise activation trigger. Google also introduced two new smart glasses designs, developed in partnership with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, which are scheduled to launch in fall 2026. Additionally, Google unveiled an enhanced native iPhone-to-Android migration tool that allows users to transfer eSIMs and passwords without requiring a separate application.
