Uber Technologies Inc. will acquire Delivery Hero SE in a deal valued at nearly $15 billion. The board of the German delivery platform voted to accept the offer, which values the company at €41.50 per share. The board described the price as fair and in the best interest of shareholders.
Uber already holds a 25% stake in Delivery Hero and intends to use the acquisition to expand its global operations. The transaction remains pending regulatory approval, with the shareholder acceptance period set to expire on November 5.
Concurrent with the acquisition news, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced a restructuring plan to reduce management layers and prioritize strategic spending. This initiative includes cutting approximately 10% of the company's global workforce.
