Indiana BMV Extends Hours for Voter Identification
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is extending branch operating hours on November 2 and 3 to help residents obtain required identification for the general election.
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will extend operating hours at all branches on Monday, Nov. 2, and Tuesday, Nov. 3, to assist residents in obtaining the identification cards required for voting in the general election. On Nov. 2, branches will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Nov. 3, they will operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During these extended periods, the agency will prioritize transactions for new, amended, renewed, or replacement identification cards, driver's licenses, learner permits, and state IDs.
The agency provides free, state-issued ID cards for voting purposes to unlicensed U.S. citizens who are at least 18 years old by the election. To qualify, applicants must provide required documentation, including proof of identity, Social Security number, lawful status, and residency.
