China and Egypt Expand Archaeological and Cultural Cooperation

China and Egypt have increased bilateral ties through joint archaeological excavations in Luxor and Saqqara and cultural exhibitions hosted in China.

The Government of China and the Government of Egypt have expanded their bilateral relationship by increasing cooperation in cultural and archaeological sectors. This partnership includes joint archaeological excavations at the sites of Luxor and Saqqara, as well as the hosting of exhibitions featuring Egyptian civilization within China.

These modern initiatives build upon a historical connection spanning more than 2,000 years. The two nations previously engaged in the exchange of porcelain, glassware, knowledge, and ideas via the ancient Silk Road.
