Israel and UAE Deepen Ties Amid Middle East War

The United Arab Emirates and Israel are deepening military, trade, and business ties following the outbreak of a Middle East war on February 28, 2026. The conflict began after the United States and Israel launched attacks against Iran, which prompted Iranian drone and missile bombardments of Gulf countries hosting U.S. bases.

In response to the aggression, the UAE has adopted a hardline position, rejecting a simple ceasefire. Emirati officials are instead pursuing a comprehensive solution to address Iran's missile program and its regional proxies. This shift comes as the UAE faces economic losses due to slumped tourism and an Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which has slashed energy exports.

To formalize this growing cooperation, two Israeli delegations, including a team from the transport ministry, will visit the UAE next week. The delegations intend to discuss a trade corridor linking India, the Middle East, and Europe. Officials view the strengthening relationship as a vindication of the 2020 Abraham Accords.
