House Republicans Introduce Bills to Repeal California Emission Waivers

August Pfluger, Jay Obernolte, and Gary Palmer are introducing separate resolutions of disapproval on Thursday to repeal four federal waivers that permit California to enforce vehicle air pollution standards stricter than federal requirements.

This legislative effort follows the elimination of three similar California waivers by Congress last year. The move aligns with the goals of the Trump administration to remove these mandates, several of which were established during the Obama administration.
