RSF Drone Strikes Kill Dozens Across Sudan

The Rapid Support Forces launched drone attacks in North Kordofan and other regions, killing at least 30 civilians and five soldiers during early June 2026.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) executed a series of drone strikes across Sudan during the second week of June 2026, resulting in the deaths of at least 30 civilians and five soldiers. The most severe attacks targeted El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, where drones hit residential neighborhoods, a fuel station, and a funeral procession at the Dalil cemetery. While initial reports cited four deaths in El Obeid, subsequent figures from the Sudanese Emergency Lawyers indicated that at least 23 civilians were killed in the city, including a truck driver transporting food supplies.

In South Kordofan, a joint operation between the RSF and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North killed five soldiers in Delling and reportedly destroyed a critical bridge. Simultaneously, drones attributed to the Sudanese Armed Forces killed seven civilians over two days in the Sudri locality of North Kordofan. Other drone activity and intercepted strikes were reported in Bahri and Omdurman.

The strikes forced local schools to suspend classes and markets to close. The Sudan Doctors Network and the National Umma Party condemned the attacks as war crimes and grave violations of international humanitarian law, noting a systematic pattern of targeting civilian infrastructure and rescue operations.
