Adobe Integrates Acrobat PDF Tools Into WhatsApp
Adobe added Acrobat PDF review and annotation tools directly into WhatsApp Web and the Windows application to allow in-chat document handling.
Adobe Inc. integrated Acrobat PDF tools into WhatsApp Web and the WhatsApp application for Windows on July 22, 2026. This update enables users to open, review, and annotate PDF documents, including password-protected files, directly within a chat conversation without downloading the files to their device.
Users can now highlight text and draw on pages within the messaging interface. However, the integration does not support full PDF editing capabilities, such as rearranging layouts or rewriting original text. Adobe confirmed that the documents remain protected by the end-to-end encryption provided by WhatsApp.
This deployment is part of a larger strategic effort by Adobe to embed Acrobat functionality into widely used productivity platforms. The company has previously established similar integrations with Microsoft 365, Chrome, ChatGPT, and Workday.
