Russian Missile Strike Kills Two in Odesa's Khadzhybeiskyi District
Russian forces launched a missile strike on Odesa, killing two people and wounding eight others, including children, in the city's Khadzhybeiskyi district.
Russian forces launched a missile strike on the port city of Odesa late Thursday evening, killing two people and wounding at least eight others, including two children. The attack targeted the Khadzhybeiskyi district, where missiles hit residential buildings, a preschool, a religious institution, and other civilian infrastructure. Among the dead was a woman walking through a park with her children; the children survived and are receiving medical treatment.
Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, confirmed the casualties and stated that emergency and municipal crews are operating from an established headquarters. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Odesa City Military Administration are currently managing the aftermath and providing aid to the wounded. This strike follows a separate missile attack on Odesa's infrastructure earlier on July 16 that resulted in one death.
