Lockheed Martin Invests $300 Million in Texas Munitions Plant

Lockheed Martin is expanding its Grand Prairie facility and partnering with Hadrian to automate munitions production as part of a $9 billion national modernization effort.

Lockheed Martin is investing $300 million to expand its advanced munitions manufacturing facility in Grand Prairie, Texas, increasing the site's footprint to over 735,000 square feet. This project is part of a larger $8 billion to $9 billion commitment to modernize more than 20 U.S. sites by 2030, an initiative expected to create 6,000 new jobs nationwide, including 2,000 in Texas.

To accelerate the production of critical defense components for programs such as PAC-3 MSE, THAAD, PrSM, and JATM, the company is partnering with Hadrian. By early 2027, the partnership will see the installation of a 24-machine automated machining cell designed to integrate commercial-style automation and digital manufacturing into the defense supply chain.

Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment Michael P. Duffey stated that the expansion represents a stronger supply chain and a more resilient industrial base. Hadrian CEO Chris Power noted that rebuilding the scale of American defense production requires partnerships that combine expertise and speed.
