Majority Democrats Schedule What’s Next Summit in Denver
Majority Democrats will host the What’s Next summit in Denver this November to debate the Democratic Party's vision for the 2028 presidential race.
The organization Majority Democrats will host the What’s Next summit in Denver from November 12-14, shortly after the midterm elections. The event is designed to analyze lessons from the midterms and debate a strategic vision for the Democratic Party leading into the 2028 presidential race.
Organized by Massachusetts Representative Jake Auchincloss, the summit will feature potential 2028 contenders, including former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, former US Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel, and Senators Ruben Gallego, Chris Murphy, Raphael Warnock, and Elissa Slotkin. Governors Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger, along with strategists David Axelrod, Quentin Fulks, and Morris Katz, are also scheduled to attend.
Organizers selected Denver as the host city because it is currently under consideration to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention. In a related effort to discuss the party's future, the progressive media company Crooked Media will host an event called Crooked Con in Washington, DC, two days after the midterm elections.
