Industry Leaders Urge Shift Toward Measurable AI Business Value
Industry leaders and academics at a Hanoi conference called for measuring AI by operational impact and business value rather than technical benchmarks.
Industry leaders and academics at the third annual Sandbox International Conference on Innovation in Business, Accounting, and Finance in Hanoi called for a shift in how organizations measure artificial intelligence. They argued that the focus must move away from technical benchmarks toward measurable business value and operational impact.
Tran Thi Thanh Tu, Head of the Science and Innovation Board at Vietnam National University in Hanoi, stated that AI must generate real, measurable, and repeatable value rather than simply performing tasks. Farsight AI CEO Samir Dutta added that as AI models become commoditized, competitive advantage now depends on applying those models to specific business problems and leveraging institutional knowledge.
To facilitate this transition, FPT Corporation introduced the CASAN Methodology, a five-level framework designed to help companies integrate AI into core operations. In the finance sector, Ambassador Adam M. Tugio noted that AI is fundamentally transforming how financial information is generated and verified, shifting the role of accountants from bookkeepers to architects of digital trust.
