AtkinsRéalis and NVIDIA Corporation Partner for Nuclear-Powered AI Factories
AtkinsRéalis and NVIDIA Corporation are collaborating to integrate chip technologies into nuclear-powered AI factories to address global power shortages for AI infrastructure.
AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. and NVIDIA Corporation have partnered to develop nuclear-powered AI factories, integrating the chipmaker's technologies into the infrastructure's design. The collaboration aims to establish a framework for creating digital versions of these facilities before physical construction begins, ensuring efficiency and precision in the build process.
AtkinsRéalis CEO Ian Edwards stated that the company is contributing its nuclear industry experience and engineering expertise in complex infrastructure to the project. This strategic move responds to a global trend where the surging demand for AI infrastructure has begun to exceed the available power supply.
The partnership follows a period of strong financial growth for the engineering firm. AtkinsRéalis recently reported a fourth-quarter profit of $95 million, which marks an 81 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
