Documentary Alleges Late Senator Lindsey Graham Paid Male Sex Workers
The Young Turks released a documentary alleging the late Senator Lindsey Graham paid for sexual encounters with men, including a minor, while opposing LGBTQ+ rights.
The Young Turks and Swamp Watch Studios released a documentary titled "The CLOSETocracy" on Thursday, alleging that the late Senator Lindsey Graham paid for sexual encounters with male escorts. The film features testimonies from three men: Cory Burns, who describes a $1,500 booking at Washington's Mayflower Hotel; a man named Jesse, who alleges a 2012 encounter at the Beacon Hotel; and a man named Kelvin, who claims Graham engaged in sexual activity with him in July 2001 at John McCain's ranch in Sedona, Arizona, when Kelvin was 17 years old.
The documentary contrasts these allegations with the late senator's legislative record of opposing LGBTQ+ rights. Additional reports circulating on social media and the Free Republic forum suggest Graham routinely hired sex workers while handling sensitive national security material. Some critics have characterized the release as an "October surprise" or an "election hit piece," noting that Graham died on July 11 from an aortic dissection and cannot defend himself.
Senator Darline Graham, the sister of the late senator and current appointee to his Senate seat, has refused to answer questions regarding the allegations. The reports further highlight a contrast between the claims against her brother and the anti-LGBT rhetoric she has used in her own political campaigning.
