East Azeri Platform Surpasses 645 Million Barrels of Oil

BP announced the East Azeri platform has produced over 645 million barrels of oil since 2006 as part of the ACG field development.

BP announced that the East Azeri platform has produced more than 645 million barrels, or 87 million tonnes, of oil since production began on October 21, 2006. The platform is a key component of Phase 2 of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field development, which has contributed to a total production of 4.7 billion barrels since November 1997.

As of the end of the third quarter of 2026, the facility maintains an average daily production of 46,000 barrels. The infrastructure consists of a 48-slot production, drilling, and quarters platform linked to the Sangachal terminal through a 30-inch subsea pipeline.

To increase recovery from the mature field, the operator recently completed the D18Z well. This well achieved the most extensive reservoir contact of any well drilled in the ACG field to date.
