Sukanta Majumdar Accuses Opposition of Avoiding Parliamentary Debate

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar accused the Opposition of avoiding discussions in Parliament, asserting that the government remains ready to debate the issues they have raised. Majumdar stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had previously clarified the government's willingness to engage in a debate, provided the Opposition agrees to participate. He argued that a detailed House discussion is necessary to bring critical issues to light.

Majumdar also criticized the West Bengal government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, regarding the handling of the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. He called for legal action against those responsible for wrongdoing and the destruction of evidence. He noted the recent arrests of TMC leader Nirmal Ghosh and two MLAs in connection with the case.
