OpenAI and Oracle Build Massive Michigan Data Center

OpenAI and Oracle are constructing a massive data center project known as The Barn in Saline township, Michigan. The facility is currently under development, with reports of extensive crane activity and constant cement-mixer convoys at the site.

Once completed, the data center is expected to consume more power than a midsize city. This projected energy demand has contributed to anxiety among local voters regarding the long-term impact of such large-scale infrastructure on the community.
