Philippines Repatriates 422 Workers After Saudi Airport Attacks

The Philippines has repatriated 422 overseas workers from Saudi Arabia following deadly attacks that disrupted operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The Philippines has repatriated 422 overseas Filipino workers and their dependents from Saudi Arabia as of October 27, 2026. The evacuations follow deadly attacks at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.

Saudi Arabian authorities temporarily suspended all operations at the facility in response to the violence. While the airport partially reopened on Sunday, the disruptions left an additional 350 workers awaiting scheduled flights to return home.

Saudi Arabia remains the primary destination for Filipino migrant workers, with nearly one million citizens currently hosted in the kingdom. The Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration are continuing to track the status of the remaining citizens awaiting transport.
