Anthony Vaccarello Exits Saint Laurent After Decade-Long Tenure

Anthony Vaccarello is stepping down as creative director of Saint Laurent as parent company Kering implements a broader leadership overhaul across its luxury brands.

Creative director Anthony Vaccarello is leaving Saint Laurent after ten years leading the French couture house. Appointed in 2016, Vaccarello helped transform the brand into a global powerhouse, with annual sales surpassing €3 billion in 2023. However, the brand recently experienced revenue declines of 9% in 2024 and 6% in 2025.

Vaccarello's departure is part of a wider strategic overhaul led by Kering CEO Luca de Meo. The parent company has seen its shares drop 31% this year, prompting leadership changes across its portfolio. Saint Laurent is the final major Kering brand to replace its creative head, following similar transitions at Gucci, Balenciaga, and Bottega Veneta.

Kering has not yet named a successor, though industry speculation points to Chemena Kamali of Chloe as a potential candidate. Saint Laurent CEO Cedric Charbit credited Vaccarello with elevating the house to the forefront of desirability and image during his tenure.
