Stanley Druckenmiller Buys AMD Shares After Exiting Nvidia

Stanley Druckenmiller purchased 72,900 shares of Advanced Micro Devices after selling his entire Nvidia position due to valuation concerns.

Stanley Druckenmiller, manager of the Duquesne Family Office, opened a new position in Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) during the second quarter of 2024. He purchased 72,900 shares of the chipmaker, which accounts for 0.8% of his portfolio.

This investment follows a strategic shift earlier in the year when Druckenmiller sold all shares of Nvidia. He characterized Nvidia's valuation as rich at the time of the sale, despite the company's status as the market leader in graphics processing units.

The move into AMD indicates a continued bullish outlook on the artificial intelligence market. Druckenmiller is specifically targeting AMD's leadership in central processing units and its expanding AI product line, including the Helios rackscale system.
