DIEZ and VOLT UAE Partner for AI Data Centre

The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has entered a joint venture with VOLT UAE, a regional platform of the Dutch developer VOLT, to construct an AI-ready data centre within the Dubai Silicon Oasis. The facility will cover up to 60,000 square metres and be delivered in two stages, starting with a 29 MW capacity and scaling to 100 MW of committed power. The project is part of the larger AED 11 billion District IO expansion.

Under the terms of the agreement, DIEZ provides the land and core infrastructure, while VOLT UAE manages the financing, design, construction, leasing, and operations. Schneider Electric serves as the energy technology partner, supplying the necessary electrical systems and smart infrastructure to support the facility.

The initiative is designed to provide sovereign AI capabilities and high-performance computing, strengthening Dubai's role as a global hub for the digital economy. Leadership from the three organizations characterized the project as a strategic milestone that transforms energy into intelligence to support advanced regional digital workloads.
