China Launches Four GalaxySpace SAR Satellites from Taiyuan

The Government of China launched four Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites, designated PIESAT-2 13-16, on September 19, 2026. The satellites were deployed at 6:50 p.m. Beijing Time from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province using a Long March-2D carrier rocket.

This mission marked the 668th flight of the Long March rocket series and successfully placed the satellites into their preset orbits. Developed by the private satellite maker GalaxySpace, the satellites are equipped with high-resolution and intelligent payloads.

These payloads enable the real-time processing of remote sensing data while in orbit. Chief designer Duan Xiao stated that this specific design will help power the development of smart space infrastructure in the future.
