Kia Unveils PV7 Electric Van for 2027 Launch

Kia unveiled the PV7, a medium-sized all-electric light commercial vehicle, at the IAA Transportation 2026 show in Hanover. As the second model in the company's Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup, the PV7 is a larger, more sophisticated sibling to the PV5 and is built on the E-GMP.S architecture. It will be available in both Cargo and Passenger configurations, with the passenger model seating up to 11 people in the Korean market and the Cargo variant supporting payloads up to 2,000kg.

The vehicle features a front-mounted electric motor producing up to 268 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque. It offers two battery options, including a 96.2kWh long-range pack providing a WLTP range of up to 285 miles. A high-spec 800V electrical system supports 350kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in 20 to 25 minutes, and introduces dual charging ports and vehicle-to-load capabilities.

Scheduled for release in South Korea and Europe during the second half of 2027, the PV7 will be manufactured at the Hwaseong factory. Kia plans to offer 23 variants, including chassis-cab and compact versions. The launch includes the Pleos Connect infotainment system and a Business Solutions package featuring fleet management software and predictive diagnostics. The company intends to further expand the PBV range with a larger PV9 model in 2029.
