Malaysia Hosts Milops 2026 to Address Regional Security
Malaysian Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin met with U.S., Singapore, and Asean officials during the 37th Milops conference in Kuala Lumpur.
The 37th International Military Law and Operations Conference (Milops) 2026 is taking place in Kuala Lumpur from August 3 to 6. The event brings together government and military officials from more than 30 countries to address military law and regional security challenges.
During the conference, Malaysian Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin conducted several high-level meetings to reinforce diplomatic and defense ties. He met with U.S. Ambassador to Asean Kevin Kim to discuss the strengthening of defense relations between the United States and Malaysia.
Minister Khaled also held discussions with Asean Secretary-General Dr Kao Kim Hourn regarding regional stability and Asean Centrality. Additionally, he met with Joseph Leong, Permanent Secretary of the Singapore Ministry of Defence, who reaffirmed Singapore's commitment to bilateral and multilateral cooperation through the Five Power Defence Arrangements.
