FAA Administrator Testifies on $30 Billion Air Traffic Request
Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Bryan Bedford will testify before Congress regarding a request for $30 billion in additional air traffic control modernization funding.
Bryan Bedford, the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, will testify Tuesday before the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The hearing focuses on the modernization of the United States air traffic control system, an effort initially funded with $12.5 billion approved by Congress in June 2025 to address aging infrastructure.
While the initial five-year funding plan is underway, the Trump administration is now requesting an additional $30 billion. These new funds would target software and digital upgrades, the construction or renovation of air traffic control towers, and general improvements to airport facilities. Bedford is expected to provide the congressional panel with updates on the progress of current reforms and the specific challenges necessitating the increased budget.
